Shhh, the baby is sleeping!

It's my Tuesday to post a card on Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog.  Have you looked each Tuesday at the August cards made by the Design Team with the theme of "baby" and in the colors mint green, lavender and/or yellow?  And being overachievers, we set one additional goal this month and that was to use a stencil on our project.  The challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ for you this month is as usual:  ANYTHING GOES WITH A HANDMADE BOW.

I used a Penny Black stamp of this baby hedgehog and painted him with watercolors.  The stencil on my project is Mini Dots stencil by Memory Box. I used chalk ink in shades of pink, blue and lavender and finger daubers with my stencil. The scalloped die cut around my image is by Whimsy (I cut 3 of them out to outline the lighter shade of lavender that is the top one) and the flower is a die cut by La-La Land. I took a brad, and embossed it with clear powder and while it was still hot and sticky, I dipped it in yellow flocking. I love doing this for the center of my daisies! The baby feet are buttons by Dress It Up with the backs cut off. The "sweet baby" is part of a cardboard die cut given to me, along with the ribbon, by Donna at Craft-Dee BowZ. Thanks, Donna! I painted the cardboard words with white gesso and then sponged pink and blue ink over the white and while the ink was still wet, I took Stampin' Up Iridescent embossing powder and sprinkled it all over the words and heated it up. The pink looks peach in the photograph, but it is pink and matches the stars on my background paper. I'm so sorry it doesn't show the true color!

And here's my fabulous bow and I love how it came out. I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make this multi-looped bow.  The little onesie in the middle of the bow is a button from the same package from Dress It Up package that the little baby feet came in.

I hope you like our cards for this month and have decided to participate in the challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ where ANYTHING GOES WITH A HANDMADE BOW.  Thanks for visiting and you still have a few days to enter your card in our monthly challenge!

Keep Calm

Hi all
It is Tracey here with my monthly post .I have spent the last 7 months renovating my new home and that was the inspiration for this card i have made for my Partner ...He loved the card and did see the funny side of it.The theme the Dt had for their weekly posts was to use a stencil .I just had to use the Tim Holtz alterations brick wall stencil on this card ...it was just perfect .I also used a Dr Digi image called Derek Dunderton which i coloured with promarkers and cut out .The papers are from P[rima. The dies i used for the brushes are from a set of tools by Marianne D.The keep calm image was found on pinterest.I also used the many paint chip samples i have collected to make a cute banner....The string i used was from my stash and i used my  Craft-Dee Bowz bow making tool to create the double looped bow with it..It makes perfect bows time after time in many sizes in minutes.

Well that's all from me for this month...I do hope you like my fun card and that you have a go at a project and join us in the Craft-Dee BowZ MONTHLY challenge following the" ANYTHING WITH A HANDMADE BOW.
Happy Crafting
Tracey

August Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the August Blog Hop here at Craft-Dee BowZ

Boy where has this summer gone? Seems like yesterday we were getting over winter and welcoming summer. Now summer is waning.

Craft-dee BowZ is all about  the bow and we hope to give you plenty of ideas for different types of bows, maybe a type other than a single loop bow. All of the bows seen on all the posts at Craft-Dee BowZ are always made with the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. And that's because it makes bow making easy. Even cards for the men in our lives can contain bows. Just use bakers twine with the CDB tool.

This month's blog hop theme is Baby and we feel you are in for a treat. I don't know about you, but I rarely need to make a baby card, so these projects will come in handy if I need inspiration. Don't forget, you can pin the pictures and save into your own appropriate board for quick future reference.

PRIZES
What would a blog hop be without a prize. The prize to be awarded from Craft-Dee BowZ is one 25' reel of ribbon.Donna always finds the greatest ribbon. I love ribbon and you probably do too. Ribbon is a great accent on cards, perfect for gift wrapping and other projects that we all seem to love to do.

To be in the running to win this yummy ribbon, all we ask you to do,is to leave a comment on each of the designers blog. If you leave a comment on each designers blog your name will be placed in a hopper and one name will be pulled on Monday August 17. You could be the August winner!!

Blog Hop Line-up

"Hope...Believe...Dream" Canvas

Vicki here to share my August inspiration with you!  This month the Craft-Dee BowZ Design Team is working with yellow, lavender and green ribbons along with stencils on our projects.

I chose to make an altered canvas wall hanging using one of my favorite stencils...

"Hope, Believe, Dream"

I used lots of spray mists to give the background coat some shimmer.  Next, I placed the stencil and used inks over the entire area.  Before removing the stencil, I added glass bead gel over the flower area. It gives great texture and a unique appearance when it has dried.  I removed the stencil, let the glass bead gel completely air dry and added some extra color to the flowers.  To finish off the flowers, I used green Flower Soft at the top of each stem just below the flower base.  This is another great product for adding texture to projects.  The butterflies are die-cut from glitter paper and vellum.  I used three die-cut words as the quote and added a few sequins for more texture.  The yellow ruffled trim is hot glued around the perimeter of the canvas. The final embellishment is the lovely lavender bow created with my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool

Featured Product

From my stash...
Cheery Lynn Mini Dimensional Butterflies Die-Cut
Close To My Heart Ink - Sorbet, Taffy
Design Team Product - Ribbon, Ruffled Trim, Sequins
Flower Soft - Green
Liquitex Glass Bead Gel

Prima Mulberry Rosse and Stencil

I hope I have inspired you today with my "Hope, Believe, Dream" canvas.

Thinking of You

Hi Everyone,
Barbara here. Ahh... the last full month of summer, August. Next month we will see the beginning of fall. And soon after we will all be thinking of the holidays that follow.

But for now, let me ask you, are you one of those that have lots of stencils, but hardly ever use them. Me too. Each month the designers at Craft-Dee BowZ are given a theme for our individual post.
This month the theme for us designers is to use stencils.
So I got out some stencils, to use on my project, so let me share it with you.

First I wanted to add dimension to this card so I used Texture Paste from Ranger. At first I decided to color the paste a yellow color, so I applied it over the stencil on the panel and dried it, Then I found  I wanted a deeper color so I colored the images with my Memento markers and used the orange color you see.

After the paste was dried and colored, I decided the panel looked like it was lacking something.Too much white space. So I pulled another stencil out and just used a sponge dauber and inks and used it to add  different designs to the various areas, filling in those voids that were on the panel.

Next I made some of my handmade flowers in an orange tone and punched out a few sprigs of foliage. I added those.

Next I added my bow, and of course I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool. This is a triple loop bow in a mint green. After that I added a sentiment on a tag and positioned that on the card and I am calling this one done.

Don't be afraid to add texture to your card, Apply some texture paste over a stencil, kind of glop it on. When you pull that stencil off  it will give the design on your card a really great, raised effect.
Go for it!! LOL

Next week on Tuesday Vicki will be dropping by with her project, can't wait to see that one. Two days later, on Thursday, Aug, 13 at 10:00 p.m. EDT, Craft-Dee BowZ will be hosting their bi-monthly blog hop. The theme for the BH will be "Babies". (psst.... you are in for a treat)

OK that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by today,
See you next week
