Poinsettia, pine branches and glitter!

Hello bow makers and hello Diemond Dies followers!  This is the very last post using these fantastic dies.  It's been a wonderful, crazy, busy month with the design team and all you wonderful people following this event.  Today is the last day for showing these dies and we will be picking a random winner (drum roll, please) tomorrow!!  So be sure and check back here to see if your name is up in lights!

Well, on to my project.  This was a very tough project to photo and I'm afraid it still doesn't convey the correct color and sharpness.  Since I love glitter, this was so much fun to create.

Here's how I created it:
1.  I used a 5x7 canvass board for my project and using a large dauber,  applied Distress Tumbled Glass ink.  Just an FYI - I did have to heat set it  a bit for the next step.

2.  Since I didn't have a snowflake stencil, I simply punched tiny snowflakes in a random pattern from card stock.  I then placed it over the dried ink and using Dreamweaver paste, placed the snowflakes wherever I felt they were needed.  Immediately dust with glitter and put aside to dry (this is the hard part -- waiting, waiting…)

3.  Next I die cut the Diemond Dies Pine branch a few times and glittered them up to a fare thee well.   Gotta have glitter!

4.  I created this gorgeous poinsettia by first adhering white card stock to wide double sided tape.  Once it was die cut, I dusted all the pieces with glitter, rounded the petals and layered them to form the flower.

5.  I created a multiple loop bow with an extra tail (see how-to in our Video section) and adhered the poinsettia in the center.  Hmm, something was missing.  Aha!  It needed snowflakes on the ribbon tails!  Grabbed my homemade snowflake stencil again and using the Dreamweaver paste and glitter, I fixed that little problem. I love how it added more dimension and made it more cohesive!  But that meant more waiting, waiting till the paste dried (fingers drumming on table).

6.  Adhere long tail of the bow around canvass and attach in back sliding your bow to wherever  you want it placed.  Tuck the pine branches under the bow.

7. The border was created with a Martha Stewart punch and adhered  around the perimeter of the canvass on the back side.

8.   I then created my sentiment on my computer since all my holiday sentiments were either too large or too small, etc.  I created a banner out of it and using a glue pen, added glitter by just tracing over the letters.    I then glittered the edges of the banner sentiment and pop dotted it on to the canvass.

Well, I sincerely hope you enjoyed this fun month with our sponsorship Diemond Dies.  Don't' forget to leave a comment -- the more you enter, the more opportunities you have for winning the giveaway!

I will close by reminding you that next month is BLOG HOP month here at Craft-Dee BowZ and the design team has been very busy creating more inspiration for you.  Blog Hop dates are December 3rd at 10pm through December 5th at midnite.  We'll have a giveaway!!!  See you at the hop!

Pine Branch wonder!

I'm back again with yet another wonderful die from Diemond Dies - the Fern Branch.  I just love this die for it's very spiny look - so delicate.  I decided to stray from the normal colors one would use for a fern and created a negative/positive project.  These branches have lots of glitter on them; however, the photo doesn't quite pick up on that.  Trust me, the look is so ethereal with the glitter!!

Here's the die I used (you've seen this in previous projects by other designers this month):

And here is my a-typical card.

We hope you'll continue to drop by the blog for the remaining week of November to see what our last designer has put together for you.

THEN, I will have one more surprise to show you the first week of December using these fantastic dies!

Don't forget, leave comments on all the designers' projects -- your name gets added to the "pot" every time you leave a comment giving you that many more chances of winning the Fancy Flowers set!!!

Thanks for dropping by and have a Bow-ti-ful day!

The falling leaves, drift by my window...

Some of you are old enough to remember the song as quoted in the title!

I am so excited to be bringing you a set of leaves from Diemond Dies!  I had so much fun creating this project.  My background paper has a very faint leaf print in it and I lightly brushed Antique Linen Distress paint over it to dull it down a bit.  Next I stamped my basket (Stamps by Judith), colored it and fussy cut it out.

Then the fun began!  I used watercolor paper both for it's ability to absorb color showing lots of texture  and also for its thickness.  Using different fall colors of Distress Ink, I inked up a piece of watercolor paper blending all my colors together.  Then came the die cutting -- so smooth and easy with these dies, they just pop out when cut.  Next I drew veins in the leaves and shaped and bent them using my fingers (the easiest tool I know of!) and placed them in the basket.

I used a Martha Stewart punch for the edges of the background paper and then created my bow on the Craft-Dee BowZ tool using three different color ribbons.  I think it really showcases the entire project.

We hope you'll continue to drop by the blog for the remaining week of November to see what our last designer has put together for you.

THEN, I will have one more surprise to show you the first week of December using these fantastic dies!

Thanks for dropping by and have a Bow-ti-ful day!

A Doubled, Double Bow

Hello dear blog friends and welcome.  I am back for a visit to Craft-Dee BowZ, this time as a guest designer. This project reminded me of why I love my Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker.  Using organza ribbon, I created two different sized bows that I joined together when I tied the larger bow closed, placing the smaller one in front and wrapping the center tie around both bows.  If I had attempted to do this by hand, I would probably still be working at it!  Anyway, fast and simple on this little, inexpensive tool.  The rest of the project followed the bow…

RebeccaDeeprose CDB1

I used a vintage image that I found in the public domain and printed it onto off white card stock at 45% of the original size.  Only the acorns were treated to a touch of color.  It will help if you look at the size of the image in ‘preview’, before you hit the Print button, so that you can judge the size that will work for your project.  Here’s the image for you to save onto your computer for your own use….

Count Your Blessings

You can print it in this beautiful brown or if your printer allows, adjust the color.  Since this card began with the bow, I adjusted mine to print a bit more of a greenish brown…

RebeccaDeeprose CDB2

I wanted a touch of something with a bit of contrast as an added embellishment to the bow, so I stamped some acorns and then covered the lower portions with Glossy Accents for some wonderful shine and the suggestion of a 3D shape…

RebeccaDeeprose cdb3

On top of a background panel of paper with a gauzy pattern, I used some snippets of lace, behind the sentiment panel on the left and layered over the ribbon and panel at the bottom…

RebeccaDeeprose CDB4

I love the play of textures and rich colors of autumn.  The gauzy patterned paper was mounted onto a brushed, old gold card stock and then onto the card base of cream.  What wonderful inspirations are found in the changing seasons!
Thanks for taking the time to visit and thank you to those of you who take the additional time and effort to leave such heartwarming comments!!

Sending blessings and ((hugs)),

Vicki's Diemond Dies "Thankful" Card

"Thankful"

This card was created using  browns and golds, embossing and my awesome Diemond Dies  Fall Leaves Set, Fern Leaf and Pine Branch. The fern and pine branch were a perfect accent for my stamped flower image.  I can't say enough about these wonderful Diemond Dies.  They release paper so easily with beautiful cut lines!

The double loop, organza bow was easy to make with my super, duper Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool.  It lives on my craft desk and travels with me wherever I am crafting!

Vicki's Diemond Dies, "Life is Good" Tag

Vicki here...I'm back on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog today to share another of my November inspiration projects using die-cuts from our sponsor Diemond Dies.

"Life is Good"

I made this fun fall tag using one of my Julie Nutting doll stamps and scraps from my stash. The Prima tag is covered with the perfect patterned paper to go with the Diemond Dies Fall Leaves Set.  I stamped and cut out the doll three times using white cardstock and red patterned paper, then fussy cut her dress apart. The front and pockets on the doll's dress are popped up for dimension.  I stamped my sentiment, "Life is Good" on the dress front and added a jeweled heart on the pocket.

I created lots of dimension by layering the leaves and ferns cut with the Diemond Dies Fall Leaves Set and Fern Leaf die-cuts.

The Pine Branch Die-cut was used as the base for the cluster of leaves.

This adorable hair bow was created with my ever present Craft-Dee BowZ Tool!

"Be Thankful"
This door ornament is a lightweight wooden banner cut out from the local craft store.  I covered it with cork and layered some burlap over it for texture. Next, I embellished it using Diemond Dies Fall Leaves , Diemond Dies Fern Leaf and Diemond Dies Pine Branch die-cuts.  Wow, these die-cuts are amazing!  I was really impressed with the quality and the ease of paper release when using them.  They cut the glitter specialty paper with no problem.  I tucked in a sticker sentiment and added a few fall sprays and acorns for color.

The double, multi-loop bow turned out spectacular! Design Team for 2015

Hello Everyone,
We here at Craft-Dee BowZ are very excited to be announcing the Design Team for 2015. We had a tough time making our decisions, since we received quite a few applications, all of which were submitted by very talented ladies.

We have finally made our choices and all of these ladies are extremely talented and we feel you will agree when you see their work. We are very fortunate to have them joining us.

So let me introduce the new DT members to you:

Gail Lass

My first love is making cards and I love to color.  I love working with  images that give me the opportunity to color and shade them, and hopefully give them an added dimension. I work with Copics, watercolor pencils, colored pencils (and Gamsol), or watercolor paints.
For my day job, I work in a law office. I’m a perfectionist and my own worst critic.
I have a husband. Please don’t hold that against me…lots of people have them and we still manage to be creative. My husband has his own creative outlet, wood turning, so we are both creative people.  My two beagles are my peanut gallery and they love every card I make. They know who feeds them.

I am 59 years old, have lots of gray hair that I wear in a ponytail, do selfies in closets, love to garden, used to scrapbook until the card making bug bit me. I love paper and am organized.

Tracey Rogers

My Name is Tracey Rogers ..aka Lalkygirl ... .I am originally from England [Liverpool ] but I am now very happily living in a gorgeous little town in Wales called Milford Haven with my partner ...Tony.
I have a fabulous Daughter called Danielle who is now 28...
I am addicted to crafting ....I love the amazing things that can be created from a blank piece of paper or card . My favourite crafty pastime is stamping and colouring any  hand stamped or digital  images  and I guess my style is very girly ....I love learning new techniques .I am very also lucky and get to teach papercrafting 3 times a week ...I am so looking forward to being a  part of the Craft-Dee BowZ  DT  and seeing all your wonderful challenge entries.

And continuing on with the team is:
Vicki Robertson

I love art in all forms.  Crafting with my hands has been a life long hobby of mine. Paper crafting...scrapbooking, cards, altered and mixed media art, is currently the most outstanding of these crafts. It has given me the opportunity to make and meet many friends while sharing my inspiration and creations with others.

I’m married to my best friend and we have two beautiful daughters, two handsome son-in-laws, two amazing grandsons and a sweet granddaughter.

I am currently a Design Team Member for Craft-Dee BowZ, Dies R Us Challenge Blog and Guest Designer for JnW Crafts

Barbara Bruder

DT Coordinator
I love working with stamps, digital images and papercrafting in general. Stamping for 20+ years has been a great time. I teach classes at my local stamp store 3 times a month and am a former rubber stamp store owner.Papercrafting and card making, what a wonderful way to express yourself, give inspiration to others and give joy to a card recipient.

Well, we are ushering in 2015 with a diversified group again this year.

You will continue to see posts here on the Craft-Dee BowZ blog each Tuesday from the designers. Our blog hops will be continuing in 2015 as well.We have some great themes lined up for the designers to use to show off projects with bows. So please continue to stop in because we are looking forward to inspiring you and spotlighting bows using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

Thank You

Hi Everyone

It Barbara and I'm back sharing my last project using the Diemond Dies. These dies are great!! One of the best features is that they release the paper/CS so easy, love that!!

Don't forget there is a giveaway that will be announced on December 1 here at Craft-Dee BowZ.

This card features the Fern die and the Asters set

Here is the card that made.

I want to share how I made my flowers. They actually stand up in the back.

I cut flowers from 3 dies, the 2nd and the 3rd smallest dies and the next to the largest die.

Next I stacked the 2 smaller flowers on top of each other

The larger flower, fold in half, with the petals offset

Next attach the layered flowers on top of the folded flower. The folded flower will be attached at the center of the smaller layeed flowers.

Here is a side view

Here is what the flower looks like close up, attached to card.

When the flower is attached it will lay at a popped up angle.I know you can use dimensional foam, but this gives a somewhat different look. Hope you like ths look.

Leaving comments here will qualify you to be eligible for the giveaway to be announced on Sat. Dec. 1 on the Craft-Dee BowZ blog.

Diemond Dies offers a really great selection. Check out the selection that they offer, here.

Today I am spotlighting the Fall Leaves set and the Bare Tree die in my project. This is a great time of the year to use this die.

I used the Bare Tree & Fall Leaves set

Here is my card

To achieve this two-tone tree. I just cut 2 bare trees from different colors of cardstocks and attached them together oin an offset manner.
I used alcohol inks on the leaves to get the various colors.

Here is a closeup of my multiloop bow made with my Craft-Dee BowZ tool.
I stacked the brown sheer bow on top of the gold stripped double loop bow.

These 2 ribbons were perfect colors for my fall themed card.

Thanks for stopping in today, I will be back Saturday for my last project. Hope you can join me again.
