The Birdhouse

Hi Everyone,
Today is the 5th Tuesday for this month. I usually post here at Craft-Dee BowZ on the 1st Tuesday but that date was April 1 and we post the the new challenge on beginning of the month. So since there were 5 Tuesdays this month, I decided to post on the 5th Tuesday which is today. Whew, did you follow me on that one. LOL

I decided on a darling birdhouse and bird for my card today.

Used my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make my double loop bow using my gray satin ribbon. I layered that on top of a piece of dotted ribbon that is wound like roses. It's probably hard to see because the bow is layered on top.

Fun with Dana Tatar

Hi Craft-Dee BowZ fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a layout. I like big bows and I cannot lie! I really like to use big bows on my layouts. The theme this month on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog is layers and I had a lot of fun layering patterned papers and embellishments on this page.

Not counting the sweet photo of my daughter, this beautiful bow is my favorite element on this page, and I couldn't have created this gorgeous bow without my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool. I hope I have inspired you to add a big bow to your next scrapbook layout!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craft-Dee BowZ Layer Upon Layer

Good Morning Sweet Friends, I'm so glad you dropped in!  Today I want to share with you a card I made for Craft Dee BowZ with the theme of 'Layer Upon Layer'...

RebeccaDeeprose FreshBeginning-1

There are so many aspects of this card that I enjoyed making!  I must tell you about a very special bow that I made with my Craft Dee BowZ tool.  There is a single loop bow made from 1" wide ribbon and behind it is tucked a triple loop bow, slightly smaller (in width) and gathered at the top of the single bow.  Long tails were left on both and trimmed to layer the effect.  I just love the effect!...

RebeccaDeeprose FreshBeginning-2

The sentiment reminds me of the gift we are given of each new day.  It's accented with embossing powders in white and ivory and some coarser gold metallic chunks.  The patterned paper panel is covered with 2 wide bands of lace and my favorite style of gossamer butterfly has alighted on the sentiment panel...

RebeccaDeeprose FreshBeginning-3

The bow is accented by two small blossoms, die cut from a lightweight watercolor paper and accented with distress inks in antique linen and frayed burlap, then sprayed with water to move and dilute the inks. Tiny cream colored pearls were nestled into the centers...

RebeccaDeeprose FreshBeginning-4
In addition to the bow having layers, the bottom of this card is accented with 6 layers of lace, paper ruffles, punched edges and trims.  It speaks to the vintage and shabby chic loving heart of me!
I'm also entering this card into these challenges for some added fun!
Thanks for stopping in and I hope to be back very soon~

Sending you blessings and ((hugs)),

Guest Designer Karen Jiles- "I Love Your Style" Keepsake Tutorial

Hi there,

This is my first post as a Guest Designer for Craft-Dee BowZ. I am sharing this little keepsake and tutorial titled, "I Love Your Style." This keepsake was a joy to create. The base for this project is a wooden frame. I used patterned papers, stickers and die cuts by We R Memory Keepers. The double bow was created using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool, which makes creating bows effortless. This makes a perfect gift for a stylish friend or for your own craft space. I am including a tutorial below...:)

Supplies

Craft-Dee BowZ Tool

Frame (7 ¾ x 7 ¾)

Patterned Paper (7 ¼ x 7 ¼, Additional layers sized down in ½ increments)

Cardstock (Base layer: 7 ½ x 7 ½, Coordinating layer: 6 ½ x 6 ½)

Die Cuts

Stickers

Ribbon

Clear Bulb

Black ink

Black Marker

Xyron Adhesive

Hot Glue

3-D Tape

Scissors

Step One: Apply black ink to edges of patterned paper.

Step Two: Run Base layer of cardstock through Xyron Creatopia Machine and adhere to frame.

Step Three: Apply adhesive to back of patterned paper and wrap corners with ribbon. Using mega runner, apply adhesive to corners and adhere to frame.

Step Four: Apply black ink to all  patterned paper and sticker layers. Starting with 6 ½ x 6 ½ black cardstock layer, continue layering patterned papers, cardstock and stickers onto frame until happy with design. Use 3-D tape to pop up desired elements. Note: I cut various components from patterned paper and layered them together to achieve the desired look. Set aside.

Step Five: Add metal rods to desired width of bow and wrap ribbon around rods creating a U shape.  This particular bow created a 2 ¼ in. bow.

Step Six: Wrap ribbon around once more to create a double loop bow.

Step Seven: Tuck left tail under bow.

Step Eight: Tie into a knot. Even up the bow by tightening tails with both hands.

Step Nine: Slide bow off Craft-Dee BowZ tool and snip ends.  Use fingers to continue fluffing the bow out to create the desired fullness. Note: This particular bow was created for tutorial purposes.  The bow used on the “I Love Your Style” Keepsake was the same ribbon turned over to use the dull side of the ribbon versus the more enhanced designed side.

Step Ten: Adhere bow and clear bulb to frame using hot glue.

Vicki's Lovely Layers!

Vicki here...I'm up on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog today sharing a card using this month's theme and colors, "Layers upon layers" with  shades of gray, black and white.  Creating cards with lots of layers is at the top of my list of favorites.  I love dimension on my cards and layers are a great way of adding a dimensional appearance to whatever you create.

"Shoes"

A few of the many layers included on my card are tags, doilies and die-cut shapes.

I had to share a close up of the Glam Heel Die-cut from Tattered Lace that I got at CHA.  It is so intricate and now on my list of favorite die-cuts.

And, the card would not be complete without the frilly, multi-loop bow created with the amazing Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool.  It makes bow making so easy and it's always on my craft table.

Craft-Dee BowZ April Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!!

Welcome to the April blog hop here at Craft-Dee BowZ. I am so glad it's spring and I know everyone else is too. This month we are spotlighting a theme that we all need to visit from time to time, Sympathy. These types of cards are needed every once in a while and we wanted to focus on this theme to aid you in designing a card for this more somber occasion. It appears that our talented designers have put together cards that are perfect for that time when you need just the right card. We all used single loop bows, which is a better choice, not too over the top.

Since we have a small design team here at Craft-Dee BowZ, it will be easy and quick to visit all the designer's blogs in the hop.

Just a reminder, please make sure you leave a comment on each designers blog and we ask that you leave a final comment back here as well to be in the running for the prize. Since this will also be your last stop in the hop, please let us know your thoughts on the fabulous projects presented by our talented designers.

One visitor who has left comments on all the designers blogs and here as well, will win their very own Craft-Dee BowZ tool.  The winner will be announced here on this blog on Saturday April 5. Be sure to check back here to see if you've won.

To claim your prize, you must notify us by email, (contact Barbara at bbruder@fuse.net ) by Saturday April 12. You will have exactly one week to claim your prize.

Now relax for a few minutes while you visit our talented designers blogs. First, let's hop over to the blog of the very talented Rebecca, to view her beautiful project and don't forget, make sure to leave a comment on her blog.

Here are our talented designers in this months blog hop
